Too Many Redirects

Hey guys I have a problem where when I try to connect to my wifi it opens up the ‘captive.apple.com’ page and says “Error opening page. Hotspot login cannot open the page because too many redirects occurred.” I’ve tried forgetting the network, turning airplane mode on and off, resetting network setting, and turning my IPhone 11 on and off. Does anyone have anymore suggestions?

When you connect to a Wi-Fi network iOS attempts to connect to captive.apple.com. If it succeeds that verifies that you are connected to the Internet. If it doesn’t connect the Wi-Fi network should route you to a login page. What type of network are you trying to connect to? If it is a known network that you own or you know the owner that means that the router does not have an Internet connection. If it is a public network such as Starbucks or one owned by your cable company it should prompt you to log in. If it only happens with one network it is probably a misconfiguration at the network, and there’s nothing you can do about it.


One possibility: Are you using VPN? If so that can cause this error.
