4k video lag mid-2012 Macbook Pro

Hi guys,

I am a proud owner of a mid 2012 Macbook Pro 13” and I am still really happy with. At the moment I am experiencing a little problem, when I want to watch a 4k 60fps or 5k 30fps video from Gopro, it is lagging (uploaded file on macbook). I now got 4gb in my slots, Is it solvable with adding more RAM? (2x 8GB)

MacBook Pro 14 M1 Max lagging when editing 4K videos in iMovie I have a hi-spec M1 Max 14" MacBook Pro purchased in December 2022. I have recently been putting together a movie with some 4k footage filmed with a GoPro. When importing the footage, adjusting the speed, trimming the clips, navigating around the edit etc, it lags heavily. The movie is now around 20 minutes long and when I bring in new clips it is almost not usable. Opening and closing the 4K files outside of iMovie is flawless. Why is this happening? Is iMovie just not man enough? I haven't experienced lag with anything before and have run some demanding games on full graphics etc. I recently made an edit which was filmed with an older GoPro only at 720p. iMovie still lagged when quickly chopping up clips and adjusting speed of clips. Any help would be appreciated.

Brand new MacBook M1 Pro can't handle 1080p Multicam editing?? I am using my brand new 14" M1 MacBook Pro to edit a wedding video with 2 1080p clips in the Multicam editor and it lags almost as much as my old 2014 MacBook. This is the one reason I bought this laptop, what is going on?? I'm using a 2021 14 inch MacBook pro with the M1 Pro Chip, 16GB of memory.

Video lag Mac OS 11.5.2 hello, mac air 2015 updated to 11.5.2 this night, after that have problems with videos, in browser or on mac, audio is fine, and video is extremely lagging and half static
