Mac Air Document Storage space vs documents space
My Mac Air document storage says I have 11G taken but I only have 1G of documents. How can I find the "extra" 10G?
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

No way to map them, no. But, check out:
What is “Other” storage on a Mac, and how can I clean it out?
Links in the Tip for Disk Inventory X or OmniDiskSweeper, they’ll allow you to look at your drive contents by size, that’s an efficient way to free up space.

Thank you very much! I've given dirty looks at Other for a week now and done a number of searches, but did not come up with this or any other article that gave a glimmer of hope for identifying or cleaning it up. I'm on my way to Big Sur!
The categories in About this Mac > Storage aren’t very reliable. For example, RAW-format pictures from my cameras show up as Documents.
Do you know of any way to map from source to the "documents" amount? I'm trying to get my storage down to an acceptable amount in order to install Big Sur.
Glad that helped! Enjoy macOS 11.
