How to restore iPhone back up from external hard drive (Catalina 10.15.5)

I downloaded my iphone's backup file to an external hard drive and want to restore this backup onto my iPhone 12. I copied the file to my Mac and opened Finder to restore the backup from the file, however, Finder doesn't see the backup on the computer (the external hard drive plugged in and the copied file). I did all that Terminal process to redirect the backup to my external hard drive. I see the backup file on the folder itself but "Finder" don't seem to see it. Any help would be much appreciated.
