Hello,
Not sure why but the Nudge keys , and . have quit working. When I try to nudge a clip to the left or right I keep getting the "clanking sound" and cannot figure out what I did to stop the commands from working.
I have restarted the program without any luck.
Please advise.

I don't know whether it will help but it's always a good idea to delete the preferences whenever things stop working correctly.
Hold down the command and option keys as you launch FCPX and select "Delete Preferences" in the window that appears.
FCPX will finish launching with none of your projects. You will have to navigate to the last project you were working on and open it.
Well I did the "if everything else fails" go-to solution. Shut everything down and restarted the Mac.
Working again.
Thanks for the info but that did not solve the issue.
It's often the simplest things that do the trick.
Shutting down the Mac together with the app should be the first strategy followed by deleting the preferences.
