App Store purchase compatible on both iPhone and iPad?

I want to buy the app Stellarium Plus for my iPhone 12 Pro. I want this app for my iPad as well. Will this charge me two times or can I download the app on my iPad with the previous/original iPhone purchase?

(using the same Apple ID on both devices)

If the developer lists two separate versions, you'll be charged for each. Otherwise, you'll only get charged once.
