Is it possible to update the iOS on my iphone 7?

UPDATE: i had attempted to update through Itunes however the program seemed to of become unresponsive and did nothing to my phone by the end of it. I waited around 2 hours and itunes was frozen one specific part. i could not even click on a single thing in itunes or move the window around. i don't think this update will work to be completely honest, and i've spent too much time trying to wrap my head around it.

When I do that it lets me download the update and it gets to a part where it literally says “verifying update” and error messages me out every time. and it doesn’t give me a reason as to why the error is even happening. I emptied out over half of my storage so I know it’s not that. And I’ve even hard reset my phone and attempted redownloading the update after I delete the previous file from the last attempt. And when I tried through iTunes the program completely froze, but nothing happened to my phone.

Not sure of the version of iOS I have on iTunes. And it’s my personal laptop

I have not tried updating using itunes. I have been a bit hesitant cause I'm scared of messing something up (or that I already have lol) and I also haven't had itunes downloaded on my computer in a while. However I did reinstall itunes last night and I might try that way today ( I will definitely post updates if that works or not)
