iphone 6 plus is not charging and wont turn on

I'm trying to do a hard reset on my son's phone but nothing is working. I tried holding the power and menu down for over a min. and nothing, I also tried iTunes but iTunes cant find the phone. I need help please

See detailed instructions here Learn what to do if your iPhone is frozen, doesn't turn on or doesn't respond.

Make sure you follow them exactly

It is feasible if the above recovery mode restore does not work the the phone may be dead.
