Not receiving emails sent to privaterelay.appleid.com

I used “Sign In With Apple” for TikTok. Now TikTok wants to link an email confirmation via verification code. I discovered that the auto generated privaterelay.appleid.com email can be found at appleid.com. I copied that and pasted it into TikToks email field. It claimed it sent the verification code but I never receive it. When I use the iPhone mail app to send an email (from a different address) to the @privaterelay.appleid.com I get a “Mail Delivery Subsystem” error.

Is there a solution to fix this? I’m afraid if I choose “Stop Using Apple ID” It will generate a different account when I login to TikTok and I will loose all my followers.

If this, being my first time using the service, is a predictor of reliability then I will stick to email aliases.

Wasn’t sure what topic to assign this too.

It sounds like you are trying to use the "Sign In With Apple" feature with TikTok.

The resource below explains how the service works. You cannot use the privaterelay.appleid.com email address like you would a regular email account.

You may need to reach out to TikTok regarding using and verifying a different email account for their service.

I have read those articles.

I think I might be dealing with a TikTok strategy to circumvent the privacy objectives of "Sign In With Apple".

Using "Sign In With Apple" works. I am able to get into TikTok. But, then TikTok asks for an email or phone number to "verify" the account" Clearly I do not want to provide my email or phone number which is why I am using "Sign In With Apple". I though I could use the email account use to log me into TikTok which is the privaterelay.appleid.com address but that didn't work.
