So since Apple has replaced iTunes with Apple Music, if one doesn't want to pay the monthly subscription fee, any music that was previously loaded to iTunes from CDs or music purchased from the Apple Store from iTunes is now lost? And don't tell me that it isn't lost because I have lost a large library of music that I uploaded from CDs as well as music I purchased from the Apple Store now that I switched from a PC to a Mac.

You don’t need to have an Apple Music subscription. Music app works in the same way as iTunes. Something else has gone wrong.

And don't tell me that it isn't lost because I have lost a large library of music that I uploaded from CDs as well as music I purchased from the Apple Store now that I switched from a PC to a Mac. A good portion of the music, purchased and uploaded, that was on my iPhone disappeared once the phone synced with the Mac Book. How do I get all that back?

Thank you sir. Done got it and it works fine. Unfortunately, Big Sur won't let me make iTunes the default audio file opener, so stuck with Musuck for that.

Of course Big Sur won't let you make an application that doesn't exist on the platform the default audio file opener.

Unfortunately the keyboard play and track change keys links to it too. Bummer, but glad I got iTunes back. Music was absolutely worthless for searching through 90 days of audio files.

Music is almost identical to the music parts of iTunes. All they did was remove the video and iOS management features to separate applications. Now, I'm quite willing to entertain the notion that neither iTunes nor Music are especially good applications.

Unfortunately apple is not going to support this. I did find a few YouTube videos exposing his you can do it but alas they don’t work. iTunes just keeps crashing on my M1 Mac mini. Guess we just have to wait.

I hate the Music and TV apps. They are slow and have lost all artwork and some descriptions to my library. It’s so stupid that apple had done this. As a huge apple supporter since the Early 80’s I am extremely disappointed.

I've downloaded Retroactive and have been following the instructions. I've reached an impasse at Full Disc Access. I follow the directions to open my System preferences and there I'm directed to "Drag Me Into The List" but that's where everything stops. Theres nothing I can drag into any list and nothing on the screen becomes movable.

Adding iTunes to my new computer seems fruitless if I'm unable to sync my iPods with my music library.

Anyone have experience with this impasse or a bright idea?
