disable game center

Hi all. I'm trying to disable Game Center. I deleted my account. However, when I start an Arcade game, The Pathless, I get a Game Center pop-up "What's New in Game Center" and it doesn't let me sign out or start the game.

How to Disable Game Center in IPadOS 16? I just upgraded my iPad Air (v.3) to iPadOS 16 and now it's trying to make me create a Game Center account just to play the one game that I use. How do I disable Game Center? How do I disable Game Center so that it doesn't constantly ask me to log in? Or, if I finally give up and log in, how do I get it to stop reminding me that I'm logged in? And how do I change the name under which I'm logged in, because I have no idea where it came from? Generally speaking, Apple doesn't provide adequate (or any, for that matter) control over one's use of Game Center. In this case, they're being supremely USER-UNFRIENDLY. This question has been asked for years but never satisfactorily answered. I tried several suggestions to no avail. And I did go to Apple's Product Feedback page to register my complaint, but Game Center is not displayed as a service on that page. So not possible to communicate w/ Apple about GC there.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that You're having issues removing your Game Center account from your Mac, and we'd be happy to help.

So we're on the same page, can you tell us what is the exact steps you followed to disable your Game Center account?

Please go to: Apple > System Preferences > Internet Accounts. Select "Game Center" then press "-" at bottom, and click "OK" when you get a pop up asking if you would like to delete your Game Center account.
