I am using iCloud for Photos on my iPhone 6s. For several months I have noticed that each time I take a photo with my iPhone, it gets duplicated in iCloud Photos. I can see these duplicates both from my Macbook Pro and from my iPhone. How can I stop this from happening and is there an easy way to eliminate the dups?

Yes - I'm well aware that I can manually delete these duplicates but there are way too many. I still need to know why they're happening in the first place - this is a relatively new problem for me - perhaps a flaw in a recent software update on Photos or iPhone or ?
Also, I do have Gemini for dealing with duplicate files in general but it has some issues with Photos duplicates that make it not an ideal approach.
