New M1 MacBook doesn’t recognize midi keyboard

I recently bought the new 2020 MacBook Pro, I bought a usb hub to connect my mpk249 but when i launch ableton and try to play the keyboard nothing is played. The keyboard turns on but nothing more. Is there any way to get it to recognize the keyboard?

(I’m using a belkin usb c multi media hub) the keyboard had no issues when using it in my old 2012 MacBook Pro

it is not likely that a reader will happen along, remember how they set up that specific piece of gear [once] and can provide detailed instructions.

You really need to ask the equipment maker.

Does it require an updated Driver for Big Sur?

There have been far, far more problems due to Big Sur compatibility than Apple-Silicon M1 compatibility reported since their introduction.

I have an A&H Xone:K2 MIDI Controller, which like the MPK249 is a Class Compliant device, meaning that Apple provides the driver. I'm using an M1 MBA and while the controller shows up in the USB System Report, no MIDI information is picked up. I have an older 2018 Intel MBP on BigSur 11.1 and the device works fine, which would discard BigSur being the issue here. I believe there is something else going on with the USB interface for MIDI devices.
