Updating the MacOS Mojave on my 13-inch MacBook Air

The "macOS Catalina 10.15.7, Security Update 2020-005 High Sierra, Security Update 2020-005 Mojave" Security Update released on Sep 20, 2020, is available to use, according to Apple. I wonder if that is supposed to also update the MacOS Mojave. Is the term "MacOS" implied between "2020-005" and "Mojave" in the title-link of that update?

I'm still using MacOS Mojave, version 10.14.6, on my MacBook Air of early 2015, and would like to continue using and updating it rather than installing a new OS like Catalina. One of the biggest problems that I face is that my iPhone7 (which has the latest updates) has stopped cooperating with my Mac, especially when I connect the two with the cable that came with the iPhone. An update of the Mac seems to be necessary but I'd like to update with MacOS Mojave. I'll appreciate your advice.

This is a separate issue brought on by Apple once again being obfuscatory with its dialog boxes. Did you get the dialog shown in this Apple support article?:

If you see "Software update is required to connect to your iOS device" on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If so, it is safe. It only patches iTunes to be compatible with iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 so you can continue to upgrade, backup, and synch your device through iTunes just like before.

I've applied it to both my Macs and they are still nicely running Mojave, not Catalina or higher. The download is fast and the updating faster.
