Internal Facetime error occured

Hi after updating my OS to BigSur, I haven't been able to open the facetime and imessages app on my macbook air. It keeps saying internal facetime error occured, and that I need to quit and reopen facetime. did it multiple times, still isn't working. Whereas imessages also doesn't open at all. Can anyone help??

It sounds like you aren't able to use FaceTime or Messages app on your Mac running Big Sur. Other and restarting the apps, have you tried to restart the computer or start it in safe mode? You can try that as the first step:


Start up your Mac in safe mode

Furthermore, if you still aren't able to launch the app or seeing an error message, you can try to sign out of your accounts and back in.
