Dock problem. Dock pops up too early.

For some reason, the dock in the newest macOS update is faulty. When I'm using a full screen app, like watching video or editing photos in the Adobe Lightroom, I cannot use any buttons in the most lower parts of the app, since the dock pops up.

How can I get rid of this feature? I want the dock to pop up only when I slide my cursor all the way to the bottom of the screen.

Any help?
