Automation without scripting?

I am wondering is there is a way to turn on some automation feature of my Imac. whereby it would learn the movements I make on my mouse and is able to replay them.

By way of context, I am not good at coding or scripting. But there are a number of applications I open with certain settings that I make over and over. I wonder if there is way for my Imac to code what I am doing in the background, and then enable me to save that coding or script to an executable file, where I can click on it and launch it.

Thank-you

It is possible, to some extent. Your mac has a great tool Open Automator.

The way you use it is primarily by dragging premade “actions” to create a “workflow”, so you can do quite a bit without scripting.

You can even click a record button and “record” your actions.

Have a look at it.

These workflows can be saved as applications or as “Services” that you can call up from the Services menu, or by right clicking ir even at the press of a keyboard shortcut.

If you can give an example of some action that you’d like to automate we can probably give more specific instructions on how it may be achieved with Automator.
