censor not working on final cut pro

How can apply the censor effects to an area?

When I select censor to an area it alloows me to chooe blur, pixalate etc and size but when I hit enter it does not apply the effect to screen.

iMac 27″, OS X 10.11

Censor filter is not properly conforming to shape mask I've been trying to censor things in Final Cut using the censor tool. Because the tool is a circle and I want a rectangle, I've applied a shape mask to it (and increased the radius so that it fills the screen without the mask applied). However, I've noticed that there's almost a transition between blur and no blur, and because I'm censoring long, thin lines of text I don't want this, I want it to go from blurred to not blurred in a single pixel. Is there any way to fix this?

FCP – Effects/Censor I am a novice, just learning. I did a search in Effects for "Censor" it was found. I applied it to a clip. I could not find the controls for this effect in the inspector. I cleared and tried again – the effect has now gone! A search in Effects does not reveal it at all. I believe it filed under Stylize but it's not there. I am using Version 11.6 with FCP 10.5.4

I move the censor to where I need censored. I hit key frame on center in the inspector. when I move the play head and then move the censor it does not track. Please help its driving me crazy.

What OS and FCP versions are you using? Can you post a screenshot of what you’re doing where, the inspector, viewer, timeline.
