macbook pro crashes on instal

I have a friend that has a MBP 15" from mid 2015. It crashed during a Zoom call. He managed to reinstall the OS, but it crashed again using Lightroom. Now when he tries to reinstall OS the computer crashes on install, and the screen fills upp with colored, horizontal lines.

Is the unit broken or is this fixable? The display works for a little while before becoming distorted.

Thanks.

Thanks for answering. He's asked if I wants to buy it. Should I do that before checking it? :)

?

Say what— you want to buy a broken machine in the off chance you can have it repaired reasonably?

Repaired at what price(?), buy it at what price(?)— as you can see there is no way I can answer this question.

good luck with your decision making process.
