Downloaded malware/virus??

Help! Accidentally I downloaded 'Document.html' file from spam email on my MacBook Pro. How can I check if any spayware or virus were downloded and how can I clean my comp?

draft email - virus possible I have a bogus draft email (obviously spam) that keeps popping up on my macbook air screen. I can't close it, only can minimize it. The email isn't in any of my draft email boxes...or anywhere else for that matter (for me to delete, etc.). It opens several times an hour, which then also causes my mac screen. to flash from left to right intermittently. I have done dozens of virus scans, all come back clean. Can anyone help?

Anti virus protection I mistakenly clicked in what I think may be a scam email. #1) How can I tell if I got a virus? No, I don’t have anti-virus software. Does my MacBook Air provide any protection? I have OS Catalina. #2) what anti-virus software is recommended to get? #3) I’ve already asked this question, but I can’t find a reply - how can I do that? thanks

An html file is a web page. It contains only text. Just delete it as advised.

Wow, Thank you for fast response! How do you know it was not infected? I am under impression that its the single purpose of unsolicited files to do just that
