7th gen iPod battery drains when not in use

I bought this iPod a month or so ago and the battery drains overnight/when off. Bluetooth and wi-fi are off. Background app refresh is off.

Things I’ve tried: Letting the battery run out and then fully charging it. Shutting it down and turning it back on. Different charging cable.

Any idea on what’s wrong or how to fix it?
