Can I use my Apple ID balance in store

I got an apple everything digital gift card. I tapped the link and it applied it to my Apple ID account. I want to use it to buy an iPhone in the physical store (not online). Can I go in there, give my info and use it? Or must my purchase now be at the online store only?
