How to uninstall an app that the provider can't help with? - "BT Cloud.app" from iMac, OS 10.15.7

I want to delete this app from my iMac. It can't be deleted via Finder and Applications - a pop up window states " The item "BT Cloud.app" can't be moved to the Bin because it's open."

I'd removed BT Cloud from System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items.

I have contacted BT by telephone and spoken with 3 separate technicians and none of them could advise on how to uninstall their app (they suggested contacting Apple).

I initially installed it as I have Broadband and Telephone with BT and they offer 1TB of cloud storage as part of the deal. However, it's not suitable for my needs - hence wanting to uninstall it.

Suggestions greatly appreciated

Boot into Safe Mode by booting with the Shift key held down and try deleting from there.  Then reboot normally.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE: if you have a wireless mouse that is chargeable connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This assures the keyboard is seen and the Shift key is activated for the boot.

Another angle, if you are familiar with Activity Monitor?

see > https://support.apple.com/guide/activity-monitor/quit-a-process-actmntr1002/mac

Is to quit the BT Cloud App Process(es) using Activity Monitor and then see if you can move it to the trash.

I suggest running an EtreCheck report, and optionally, posting it here if you need assistance with interpreting its results. The report should provide you with the possible locations of this app so that they could be removed.

Alternatively, you can also try the "Find Any File" app to search for clues to where this app has installed itself on your Mac.
