How do you change the footnote mark formatting in Pages?

Pages' footnote marks are odd. They’re too low, and look weird. They need to be raised one point above the baseline. Is there a way to have Pages do this automatically, or am I stuck changing the formatting for every single one?

Pages has always placed its footnotes on the baseline, with the footnote number superscripted. You can manually select the footnote text, and then from the Format Text panel's Advanced Options (⚙︎˅) menu, raise the baseline.

This alteration may not have the desired effect should you export to Word document formats where this would no longer be the expected standard baseline setting to the translation process.
