Numbers iOS: Create a quick drop down filter

In Numbers (both iOS & Mac), you can create a quick filter to quickly filter the values displayed on a sheet without having to type in the desired value.

E.g. If my column A consists of:

Apple
Banana
Frog

Then I can quickly select quick filter Frog to only shows those rows that contain the value of "frog"

However, on Ios this requires a lot of taps. You have to tap Edit -> Select a column -> Cell Actions... -> Scroll down to quick filter -> select filter option

Is there anyway I can create a drop down menu to do this with less taps. Ideally, so I can stay in the "reading view" without having to tap on edit first?

Even if I can only create the filter on MacOS and then have it appear in iOS that would be fine.

Hi big_smile,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you'd like a simpler way to search for specific values within a Numbers sheet, correct? If so, we'll do our best to help. Though we didn't find a way to do what you are specifically asking, we did find a couple of things that might help. We've linked them for you below.

Use regular expressions in Numbers on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and online at iCloud.com

Find and replace text in Numbers on iPhone

We hope that helps!

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Cheers!
