I have tried all the recommended fixes to date and my iPhone 12 Pro Max running IOS 14.2.1 still has WiFi connectivity problems. I am having to disable WiFi to connect to websites. Any new recommendations? Hopefully Apple will fix this issue shortly.
I contacted my ISP, i.e., Comcast/Xfinity and they sent me a different router. This router appears to solve my connectivity problem, as I am now able to connect my iPhone 12 Pro Max without having to manually configure the network on the phone. WiFi range and speed are not as good as with the previous router. Since I get similar speeds with other devices at the same place in my house, this appears to be a router issue not an issue with the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
I should be clear - the 12 connects to the wifi BUT no internet comes thru. Again, the 6 connects AND internet comes thru.

Resetting the Network Settings on the IPhone 12 Pro Max worked to perfection! Not only is the 5ghz channel working now, but it's lightning fast! Appreciate the suggestion!

I have Xfinity and have no issues with my iPhone 12 Pro. Do you have anything else connected to the internet through that router? Since you knew to go in and insert manual settings on the iPhone, were there any information setup there from the router and the auto DNS? It may have just been a lease issue with the router, but that should have been resolved when you did the network reset. However, it would be in your best interest to set it back to automatic once you get the new router if you have any other wi-fi devices in the house to prevent you from having any IP conflicts.
When I click on the (i) at the end of the line with the wi-fi network that I am connected to, as I scroll down, i can see the IPV4 information listed. That includes the IP address for the iPhone, the subnet mask, and the router IP. Did Xfinity check the settings for their router to ensure that it is connecting to the internet? The iPhone 12 should connect to either the 2.4 or the 5Ghz wi-fi bands that the Xfinity modem/router uses.
