Location is not visible in Apple Photo App under places

Let's Say I have 10 different photos and all those photos do have GPS tag

The problem is that when I open places in the Apple Photo app places are not visible.

However when I open single picture I do see where picture was taken as below:

From what I was able to figured out this problem, is present when pictures were imported but "copy items to Photo library" was not selected as below:

One I select this option and open Places pictures shows up.

What is funny about is that when I create Album, add those photos and "shows as memmory"

than pictures are marked on the map

Does anyone know how to fix that and why this is happening?

How to show places and not importing ALL Photos to Photo Library

Hello rafnizp,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

Based on what you mentioned, you do not see where the image is taken when you import images, but you don't want to import all photos to get expected results.

Take a moment to review the information on this document: View photos by location in Photos on Mac. This should help clarify what you are seeing. It looks like the photos will go to Memories based on this instruction "Click Memories in the sidebar, double-click a memory, then scroll down to Places."

Best wishes!
