New GMT watch face doesn’t update

I like the new GMT I watch face. I live in the Pacific time (PST) zone and have the alternate (24 hour) clock set to London time (8 hours ahead of PST). I’m currently on a trip to the Central Time (CST) zone, 2 hours ahead of PST. Upon arrival, my iPhone and primary watch time reset to CST, per my time zone settings. However, the London time still reads out 8 hours ahead when it should now be 6 hours ahead. Does this feature not automatically “reset” after switching time zones, or do you have to do sone hard reset?

Hello afbtompson,

We see that you have some questions about the faces on your Apple Watch. We are glad you reached out to the Apple Support Communities about this issue.

Check out this link for details on How to get updated time zone information for your Apple device. Keep in mind that you can also Use World Clock on Apple Watch to check the time in other locations.

Also, check out this link to review the Apple Watch faces and their features.

Best regards!

Unfortunately, you missed the point and the links were not pertinent to my problem.

When I changed time zones (flew from PST to CST):

    • My iPhone time updated properly and automatically.
    • My iWatch (primary) time updated properly and automatically.

No issues there.

However:

    • The secondary time on my iWatch GMT face (as indicated boy the 24 hour hand and dial) did not update at all.

In other words, London time (which I selected for the GMT hand) was shown to be 8 hours ahead when in the PST time zone (correct) yet also 8 hours ahead when in the CST time zone (incorrect)

How dow one fix that?

Thanks.

Thanks for the input. I believe I tried restarting the phone and watch to no avail. My bad for not reporting that.

Removing the clock and adding it back in might work, although I’m back home now (PST time zone) and have no way to test that out. It will have to wait till the next trip!

It stands to reason that a “virgin” iWatch in the CST time zone, not subjected to time zone shifts, would properly show LONDON time 6 hours ahead. The trick is, I guess, to fool my watch and force it back to that “virgin” condition. Still, seems a bit awkward to do every time I might shift time zones. Not so much these days, but if world travel ever comes back into vogue.....

Thanks again.
