Ive noticed since Big Sur came out any screenshot I take is not appearing on the desktop. Where are they going, why have you changed such a simple feature?
If you're going to change it at least give a warning on the screen saying they are being relocated. Simple incompetence.

Apple need outside people to look over what they do as, insiders are familiar with what they are doing/changing, which kind of misses the point as, the customers are the ones paying for everything and need to know how to use it.
You are right, it is arrogance, and blindness to the fact that Apple’s own familiarity breeds contempt. It takes up a lot of time sorting out what has been removed, put elsewhere etc., with no indication on each new OSX and update 😀
I’m not seeing it anywhere in iCloud Drive mate. Unless you’re referring to somewhere specific?

To add; nothings been changed since Big Sur was installed. Screenshot still making the shutter noise but not appearing on desktop like it always does
Screen shots using command shift 3 save to the Desktop on all my Big Sur installs. So that's where I expect them to be.

What was the file name that you had to delete in Library please?
To add to Paul's response you can also change the format of the screenshot. I changed it from png to jpeg so I could edit them more easily in my image editing app.
I did not. I have had Dropbox for years as stated already. :)

Paul Conaway's suggestion should allow you to pick the location you want to use, but if you are using DropBox, it has a history of secretly hijacking the screenshots.
Where are screenshots saved on Big Sur?
