Early Wear-and-Tear on Smart Keyboard Folio

After about a month, my Smart Keyboard Folio (12.9") is already showing signs of wear at the fold. Right now, it's just a small tear/crack on one edge where the folio folds, but it looks like it will get worse with continued use.

Is this common with these folios?

iPad Pro, iPadOS 14
