iPhone 12 Pro Not Connecting to CarPlay (VW)

Hello all!

My new iPhone 12 Pro will not connect to my VW's CarPlay. My VW is only 2 years old and my previous iPhone 7 had no issues. I haven't had any issues connecting the 12 Pro to the VW's Bluetooth.

Based on previous posts, I tried a different USB-A to Lightning Cable and tried using the 12 Pro's Lightning Cable with an aftermarket USB-C --> USB-A converter. My 12 Pro's iOS version is up to date.

Any ideas?

Make sure that Siri is on? If it is not, CarPlay won't connect. See this link --> Use CarPlay with your iPhone - Apple Support

Did you have your car forget the previous phone?

Deleting all the previous phones didn’t do the trick, but a factory reset on the entertainment system did work. Thanks for the help!

Thanks. I turned it on, but still no joy. When I connect the cable, CarPlay says “No files found.”
