iCloud for Windows - Does not download full quality images

I just updated to v12.0 from the Microsoft Store, and the issue still exists. I'm not sure if this was changed in 11.6 or 12.0, but now some of my photos are full res, but most are still quarter res. Really wish Apple would fix this issue.

Issue is probably linked to iCloud app version. I have the same problem with iPhone 8.

Well, it seems that I now am getting the full resolution .heic image files, but I no longer have the matching .mov file for any of my Live Photos. If it's not one thing, it's another. Apple says iCloud isn't a backup, but they sure do make it very difficult for me to get my data off iCloud for actual backups.

I have 12.2 from the Microsoft Store, problem persists.

I see it's been some time since this was posted but no solution yet. I'm having the same problem, I can access full-size photos on the browser and save them this way but syncing through iCloud with Windows yields only photos of under 1MB size.

I have just installed version 12.3.74.0 from the Microsoft Store, and it seems that I'm now getting the full res files. I've only spot checked a few files, but they've all been the full 12MP images from my 12 mini. I'd be curious if this version works for everyone else.

I think to have a similar problem (iphone se 2020)

If I take a photo (heic) and upload it to icloud or google photo this is identical

But If I edit the same photo and try to download it from:

Google photo: I get the modified heic file

Icloud web: I get the cropped jpeg file

Icloud Windows: I get the edited heic file

NB Photo windows app: I get cropped jpeg file with grey band bug (already reported)
