Thunderbolt to ethernet

My Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter has stopped working. It was fine until recently. Not sure if the problem started after upgrading to Big Sur.

Mid 2015 MacBook Pro.

OS 11.0.1

16 MB Ram

In Network preferences, Thunderbolt Bridge 2 shows up in list, but says it isn't connected.

Adapter shows up in System Report under Thunderbolt

Tried deleting and re-adding Thunderbolt in Network preferences. Same issue.

Ethernet connection tried on older Mac with ethernet port and works fine.

Is there a driver problem with these in Big Sur?

Is there a fix?

Thanks to all

Hello bhorowitz,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It looks like your Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter stopped working after updating to Big Sur, and we'd be happy to look into this with you.

To get started, let's try to reset the SMC, and NVRAM:
