I have noticed a 3.5 cm wide blinking vertical line on my Mac screen. It had appeared once 4-5 months prior but disappeared within 2-3 days on its own. This time it has been continuously blinking for more than 2 weeks now. Any suggestions what could have gone faulty.

If you have an external display check if there is same kind of issue. This should isolate if the issue is related only to internal display.
Seems Like display issue, you need to get in touch with Apple Support to get it repaired/serviced.

Thanks .. I did that and also reinstalled MacOS.. but the problem persists.
