webcams compatible with macbook air 10.10.5

I've recently purchased 2 different webcams that say they are compatible with macbook air 10.10.5 but don't read in. What could be the issue?

Cheap action cam works as Webcam on Toshiba laptop but not on Macs? My iMac webcam is very poor so I decided to use a cheap Chinese 4K action cam as a webcam. I tried connecting it to both my iMac and Mac mini via its USB cable and selecting "PC Camera". No way could I get it to work. After several hours, in desperation, I thought I would give it a go on my old Toshiba laptop. Incredibly the laptop recognised it immediately. So what am I doing wrong or is it just that it is incompatible with Macs?

macbook air webcam suggestion Does anyone have a suggestion for a webcam compatible to a MacBook Air (2019). I am seeing many of them require a USB 3 which this computer doesn't have.. Thanks!

Incompatibility perhaps. You need to contact their manufacturers: Contact a third-party vendor - Apple Support. I doubt anyone here would be able to help without at least knowing which products you bought.
