iPhone 12 ghost alarm

Hey guys I‘ve got a new iPhone 12 and restored the phone from an old iPhone 7. After that I noticed no matter how I change the clock/ health settings, one previous alarm on iPhone 7, which was active, would always be running.

Even though I deleted all the alarms from the clock / health apps that ghost alarm still runs everyday exactly at the time that was set from the old iPhone, but I cant see it on my iPhone 12 anywhere so I could not change it or delete it.

It seems to be an issue since several years ago. I don't want to reset my iPhone 12 to factory. Could somebody fix it please? Thanks.

Hey, I’ve had the exact same issue and I was asked to take a backup and restore my data using iTunes and that should fix it and if it doesn’t it means the backup on your previous phone may have been corrupt which would need to be fixed by apple! Adding to this I was also told by the support centre that this is a known issue and Apple is aware but nothing has been done to fix it.

Hi thanks for you reply. By the health app I mean I have checked the bedtime alarms in the health app. Though I think the bedtime section in this app is sort of a mess I still managed to get it work. The alarms in the health and in the clock are both working for me.

The problem is there is another hidden alarm not being managed by any means which I have described above. I have been using iOS for more than 10 years and I am pretty sure this is a bug. From the previous posts I can see nothing has been fixed actually. I know there are some bugs in iOS for at least like 5 or 10 years but this one is really an issue.

Hello Liang369,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. From your post, it sounds like there's an alarm that you don't recognize that is going off at the same time every day. We'll do what we can to help.

You mentioned checking the Health app, but make sure to look into the Bedtime settings since that's exactly where the alarm would come from: Use Bedtime to track your sleep on your iPhone

Otherwise, try restarting the iPhone and remove any and all alarms from the Clock app: How to set and manage alarms on your iPhone

Also, if you have an Apple Watch, check the alarms there: Add an alarm on Apple Watch

Take care!
