Will this work? Mac Mini, i7, run Mojave?

I have a Mac Mini Server, mid-2011. Intel i7 processor, 16GB RAM, 2 x 500Gig storage.

Officially this cannot be upgraded to use Mojave or Catalina.

Yet, there are other Intel i7 or even i5, i6 that are supported.

Is there a hard technical reason why a mid-2011 i7 mini server cannot run Mojave or is it just apple support policy?

Thanks for any insight

Hi VikingOSX,

Thanks for the reply.

I get it that it is on the obsolete list.. but was curious if that was just support policy (keep costs down) or hard technical incompatibilities.

If I follow what you say, the issue is that there is a hardware limitation for this mini to run newer MacOS versions.

That HW limitation is not about the Intel i7 CPU but the graphic processor (GPU) ?
