My iPhone ringer volume is going up by itself

My volume keeps going up all the time. It started after I updated to iOS 14.2 for my work iPhone 6s. Now it goes up by itself all the time. I have restarted my phone many times and it keeps going up, even after I physically turn it down. It typically happens right after a phone call; the ringer will automatically adjust all the way up. There are times however that it will do it after I lock it. I have taken the case off it, I have cleaned around all the buttons, and I have kept the settings the same as before I updated it. What can I do??

On or about January 2, 2021 my iPhone 6s+ started increasing its ringer volume on its own after I hang up from a call. I am running iOS 14.3. This is very annoying since I like to keep my ringer volume very low.

My temporary fix for this odd malfunction was to go to SETTINGS, SOUNDS, and turn off "Change With Buttons" and then set my ringer volume low with the Ringer and Alerts slider.

Now when a call comes in (I answer and then hang up) iOS tries to increase ringer volume but fails.

I do NOT have Tiles, but agree the issue definitely is related to BT headphones/speakers.

Looks like this is a recurring problem since at least December. That would be 3 months. How about a fix Apple? Not a workaround...

Yeah, and now my phone lock key does not respond either. Today it hang-up, and suddenly started to call SOS while waiting for the doctor!

And still the same after updating to iOS 14.4.1

Just done it while I was looking at this post, but it seems to do it when changing apps quite often. I only seem to have the issue with Bluetooth headphones, but it’s a bit annoying.

Happens to me all the time. Apple is slipping. The last update was more than a month ago. The fix should have been with it.

iPhone 11 and just updated to 14.4. Same as others- had the issue with previous software versions and still having this issue with 14.4. I also believe it’s happening after I hang up from a call. I don’t use a headset. Bluetooth has only connected in my car but I don’t think it’s that. I think it’s coming from hanging up from phone calls. Hope they fix this bug very soon!
