Wrong time before MacBook login
When I power on (or restart) my MacBook Air, before I enter my pwd and login, clock on top right corner shows wrong time.
Once entered and connected to wifi, time changes correctly.
Is it normal?

Hi there, rino75.
It appears that the clock in the top-right corner of the login screen is wrong, but once it's connected with Wi-Fi, it's correct. We understand how disconcerting the wrong time could be, and we're glad to help with this.
If the date or time is wrong on your Mac - Apple Support -- It's normal since your Mac needs the internet to access the correct date and time.
"In the Date & Time pane, make sure that ”Set date and time automatically” is selected and your Mac is connected to the internet. Your Mac can then get the current date and time from the network time server selected in the adjacent menu."
Take care.
Thanks for getting back to us with that information, rino75. We'd like to see what happens when you start your MacBook Air in safe mode.
How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support -- Once your Mac is in safe mode, depending on whether the time is correct on your login screen, follow the additional steps below:
"If the issue continues in safe mode
If the issue continues while in safe mode, or your Mac restarts several times and then shuts down while starting up in safe mode, you should reinstall macOS and make sure that your Apple software and third-party apps are up to date.
If the issue doesn't continue in safe mode
If the issue doesn't continue while in safe mode, leave safe mode by restarting your Mac normally. Then test for the issue again. The issue might be resolved.
If the issue returns after leaving safe mode, startup items are probably at fault. Apps can install such items in numerous places, and they aren't always easy to find or recognize. For that reason, you should first make sure that you've installed any available updates for your Apple software and third-party apps.
If updating your software doesn't help, try any of these solutions:
To learn whether software in your user account is causing the issue, set up a new user account, then log in to it and try to reproduce the issue in that account.
Unplug all accessories from your Mac, including printers, drives, USB hubs, and other nonessential devices. You could have an issue with one or more of those devices or their cables.
If you still need help, please contact Apple Support."
Best regards.
Hi, Date time settings are correct as describe in the support page ( link provided by you too). However issue is with the time before you login (screen where you enter the password.
Please note: this can be observed only when you load your Mac after shutdown. When you come to the login screen then you will observe time is incorrect there.... but yes it fix itself once you login)
Is there any way that time can be synced or fixed.
My opinion is: “it’s not fine observing a wrong time before I enter my password to login”.
In addition this happens on a MacBook Air running new M1 processor that should avoid these small imperfections.

Thanks for your reply.. I did load MacBook Air (M1) in safe mode.
However there was no "time" displayed on top right corner. (So i am unable to confirm if the time was correct in safe mode or not before login.
I then exit out from safe mode as normal, but issue still persist.
Please note: There is no third party software installed as of yet. MacOS is up to date and issue can only be seen when Mac Book starts after a complete shutdown.
Agree.. These little imperfections doesn't look good.
