Can’t access Photo Albums when commenting on Facebook App

I have an iPhone SE 2020 and am running the iOS 14.2.

When replying to a comment on Facebook, I now do not have the option of selecting any other album, apart from recent photos/camera roll.

Is there a way to change settings, or work some kind of wizardry to be able to get this back?

It’s really frustrating not being able to select and album and being expected to scroll through months of photos to dine the perfect reaction meme!

@Eurotrashjg - Correct. That is exactly what I am experiencing. Instead of "replying," we have to start a fresh comment and refer to a previous comment. I am reposting my earlier suggestion for those who don't read back to all of the comments. At least we have an option to make a comment and see all of the Photo Albums, not just the Camera Roll. And, yes, I wish FB would figure out this bug and fix it!

"To make a new comment, don't click the comment button! If you see the text box for commenting is already open, and the camera/photo icon is inside that text box, on the right side, that means you will have the option to see Photo Albums if you want to insert photo! I noticed if you click the "comment" button first, that icon moves to the far left (outside of the comment box) and that leaves you with only the Camera Roll option! I also noticed that I cannot see the camera/photo icon inside the text box when I reply to a reply. So, it is best to start a fresh comment and simply refer to a previous comment if necessary. At least you will have the option to view your Photo Albums if you want to insert a photo!"

For anyone still having this problem, I’ve found a workaround solution. Ok, so if you are scrolling on Newsfeed and click into a post (so that post and comments become the only post you see and you click the camera from there, it does NOT give the option to change albums. BUT if you do not click into the post and just click the camera icon in the comment area from the main feed, it does in fact give you the option to select from different albums, but you have to select the camera and photo before you type a comment. This at least works for posts from groups. I just noticed in individual’s posts, the posts look different and the group posts comment area includes a field to type and shows the camera but a regular post just has the option to click camera. So weird and I’m probably not explaining well.

Not helpful.

My iPhone settings allow Facebook to access “All Photos”, but it only shows the camera roll, so I have to scroll through every photo to get to the one I want. It’s a real pain when trying to find one that is a year or more old.

Please fix this so that we can choose photos from our albums like we used to be able to do.
