MBP 13' M1 External Display (LG 35' HDR) with pale colors (way to bright)

Thanks for that, will give it a try as soon as I can. Also have ordered a genuine Apple Thunderbolt 3 cable, a USB-C to Display Port and a USB-C to HDMI cables. Will try when they turn up Thursday but realise this probably won’t make any difference to the HDR setting on the Mac being resolved.

Just a quick update, trying different cables (Apples Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 3, USBC to Display Port and USBC to HDMI) made no difference. Hopefully an OS or LG driver update will resolve the HDR issue soon!?

Not really. I have the same setup over USB-C.

After update to macOS 11.2.1 HDR is turned off by default when I close the lid.

So colors do work, but without the HDR (which is automatically turned off by system).

Yep, exactly the same for me. Selecting HDR makes the screen go washed out white still and when I close the lid it automatically turns it off. So I’m guessing the OS “knows” there’s a problem otherwise it would leave it on and would require you to deselect it manually...

I've reseted my monitor (Picture Reset — Do you want to reset your picture settings?) an there was no difference. Would this be resetting to factory settings, or am I missing more?

Unfortunately macOS 11.2 did not fix the issue :(

So I’ve just ordered this exact monitor for my M1 MacBook Pro and now am instantly regretting it. Has their been any fix to this issue since or does HDR still not work?

so pretty much you don't get drowned out colors but at the cost of not having HDR turned on. I wish Apple can resolve this in the immediate future

I'll reach out but I doubt there's not much they can do if it's an issue specific to M1 Macs.

Whit the latest macOS 11.3, the problem still exists. MacBook Air M1 and LG 35WN75C-B
