MBP 13' M1 External Display (LG 35' HDR) with pale colors (way to bright)

Actually the reset did not fix the issue permanently - sometimes I have to turn the monitor off and back on and eventually that works in my case.

Unfortunately macOS 11.2 did not fix the issue :(

Did anyone get back to you with any more details? As you can see this seems to be an ongoing issue. More than happy to supply you with any details you need to investigate or escalate further!

A solution to get real blacks is, when I close and open my MacBook. After that, the blacks are coming back. But still no HDR mode possible. I will write the LG support

I've got the same issue on my LG 35'.

When I disable HDR, close the lid and open it again, the black color is back.

But without HDR the screen is not so sharp :c

So I’ve just ordered this exact monitor for my M1 MacBook Pro and now am instantly regretting it. Has their been any fix to this issue since or does HDR still not work?

so pretty much you don't get drowned out colors but at the cost of not having HDR turned on. I wish Apple can resolve this in the immediate future

I'll reach out but I doubt there's not much they can do if it's an issue specific to M1 Macs.

Whit the latest macOS 11.3, the problem still exists. MacBook Air M1 and LG 35WN75C-B

This is an ongoing issue. With USB-C, the monitor is washed out. Black is grey; With HDMI, it is normal. I really wish I can go back using only one USB-C cable.
