Problem with external hard drive and sleep
After installing macOS Big Sur on my 2019 iMac (27") my external hard drive (LaCie d2 Thunderbolt 3) does not go into power-saving mode when I put the iMac to sleep. The LED remains solid blue and the drive continues to spin.
The external drive is connected to the iMac with Thunderbolt 3 cable. I have verified that "Put hard drive to sleep when possible" is checked in the Energy Saver System Preference. The external drive has been formatted APFS (Case-sensitive) and is used exclusively for Time Machine backups.
This worked correctly and consistently with macOS Catalina and the problem surfaced only after installing macOS Big Sur.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
