how to get my MacBook Pro (Mid 2012) caught up to date on updates?!
I have just recently purchased a refurbished MacBook and it's behind on it's updates. I have been able to get it to High Sierra only (10.13.6), but cannot seem to get any higher. I want to update because I want to download GarageBand and in order to do that, I need BigSur, I believe. When I try to download BigSur, it tells me "This version of macOS 11.0.1 cannot be installed on this computer." I click "Learn More" but nothing pops up for me. I understand that I may not be able to get BigSur on this version of MacBook but what would be my 'up-to-date' software for a Mid-2012 MacBook Pro? Also, a bit of a side question - do I need to download and install every version of macOS up until I get to the current software? I know this is a bit of information and asking but I would greatly appreciate help. Thank you, and I hope you all have a great day!
