Sidecar only working through cable

Hi! My MacBook Air M1 is unable to detect my iPad Pro 2020, even though they have both the same iCloud account, and are connected to the same wi-fi. When I go to the monitor preferences is doesn't even let me turn on the air play

Hello Migueeelbs,

It sounds like you're trying to use the Sidecar feature wirelessly between your MacBook Air and iPad Pro.

Besides having both devices signed into the same iCloud account and being connected to the same Wi-Fi network, you also need to meet the following requirements:

  • macOS Catalina or later
  • iPadOS 13 or later
  • Two-factor authentication enabled
  • Bluetooth enabled on both devices
  • Handoff enabled on both devices: Use Handoff to continue a task on your other devices
  • Turn off cellular and Internet connection sharing features on both devices.

If the above is all correct, then try this next:

  1. Restart both the iPad and Mac.
  2. Turn Handoff off then back on.
  3. Turn Bluetooth off then back on.
  4. Test in a new user: macOS User Guide: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

If the wireless connection still doesn't work, please contact support: Get Support

Cheers!
