Call Failed Issues

I'm having an issue on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, which I've had for over two weeks.  I am on iOS 14.2.

I can receive calls but when I attempt to make a call, I always get "Call Failed".  The only way to fix it is to turn off/on Airplane mode for a few seconds and have iPhone search for Verizon service again. Once that's done I'm able to make my call.

I've heard but have not confirmed, that this issue might be related to having "Wi-Fi Calling" setting turned on as the main issue causing this problem.  In my situation, call failures still occurred when "Wi-Fi Calling" setting was turned off.

At this point, I'm not sure whether this is a hardware issue, software issue, or a Verizon issue. However, it's really starting to annoy me.
