Connecting AirPods to iTunes on Windows 10 PC

I saw a few unanswered posts about connecting AirPods to iTunes on a laptop that is not a MacBook, to enable playback perform the following steps:

-make sure that your AirPods are connected via Bluetooth to your PC

-open iTunes

-navigate to the "Edit" tab and select "Preferences"

-in the preferences display, select "Playback"

-on the bottom of the pop-up window, change the "Play Audio Using" option from "Windows Audio Session" to "Direct Sound"

-close and restart your iTunes and you can now listen to your music via AirPods
