MBP M1, Big Sur 11.0.1 issue - Screensaver turns on during work and cannot turn it off

Be sure you are the ONLY logged in User, or that other user's screen-saver could start up and take over the screen.

Some users said that having another user logged in, but pushed into the background without logging off can be the issue.

yes. I have this issue as well. The only thing most people do is physically close the computer and reopen and it goes away. I don’t believe it’s an M1 issue as other people with iMacs and Intel MBP/Air are having the same issue. It could be Big Sur

I have found a lot of people complaining of this. Have reported it to apple. I get out of it by pressing command, option and fingerprint keys at the same time. I have a new MacBook Pro M1 with up to date Big Sur.

I know it doesn’t help but at least you know it’s a common problem. Waiting for a software update.

The old reference says command-Option-PowerButton puts your Mac to sleep, but now has an added footnote that it does not apply to touch-ID Macs.

What does that shortcut seem to do? Does it put your Mac to sleep?

I don't dispute that, but if it solves the problem in the short run, you get to use your computer again.
