back ups in iCloud

In my iCloud back up how do I see what is backed up in the section called backup and what will happen if I delete anything in it to make more space ?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.0

You're welcome. If it's iCloud storage you're looking to cull (not device storage), try perhaps you can try -- Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support.

One cannot delve into a backup to view its contents. If you delete a backup, it is permanently gone.

As I'm nearly full to the free 5gb in my iCloud account I thought that I could free up some space as I'm not sure what it has backed up so thank you for your reply.
