no sound on tv when screen mirroring is selected

I've set up and linked to my Sony TV for screen mirroring - picture is fine but cannot find how get sound as well.

Using Big Sur - just updated.

I've selected the sound output for the TV but nothing happens.

Any suggestions welcomed!
