Can the image background be specified before a user logs in? I've searched for this online and all I found was numerous posts on how to change the user profile specific background image for the desktop.
I am using macOS Big Sur and presently after the operating system boots there is a orange / red background image displayed then the user login and password prompts, can this be changed?

Thank you Paul, I have tried that before I created the post, unfortunately all I could find was advice on how to change the desktop background image for a specific user login, which I know how to do, its the image background that is displayed before anyone logs in that I want to change.
Yes, but as I said, all of those replies are for after you have logged in and all detail what to do with the UUID, what I am asking for as I said is the screen before you login, is it possible to change that?
Ok. it was my understanding that it was before the login not after. I have my after login backgrounds rotating every 30mins using the feature built into the Desktop & Screen Saver preference pane. I know that isn't what you are looking for.

Simon I think you did. Sorry I miss understood the thread I posted the link to. I understood what you were asking. Poor implementation on my part. I would love to be able to change the pre login screen as well. The Big Sur screen is glaring compared the backgrounds I like and use on a regular basis. I hate having to reboot.
Simon yes it can. Search for custom Big Sur background or something similar I saw a post in this forum explaining how to change the screen when you first boot your computer.
Didn’t I say before login and not relevant to the uuid? I want to change the screen which shows the login form, before any user has logged in.
Can the background which is displayed before login be changed?
